Jolly List is an independent Christmas site built around one idea: the holiday season is easier when you plan it with good information and a few honest tools. We publish gift guides organized by person and by budget, free planning tools for shipping deadlines, countdowns, budgets, wish lists and Secret Santa draws, and a news section that tracks the dates, deals and policies that affect holiday shoppers.

What we do

We write for the people who do the shopping, the cooking and the organizing: parents, partners, coworkers, adult children buying for parents and anyone who has ever stood in a store on December 23 without a plan. Our gift guides explain why an idea works, what it typically costs and what to watch for. Our tools run in your browser and mostly need no account. Our news posts summarize deadlines, policy changes and seasonal trends and always point back to original sources.

How we choose what to recommend

We pick gifts by usefulness, not commission. Each idea has to pass four tests: people actually use it, it has a realistic price range, it works for someone you do not know perfectly and it can be returned or exchanged. Where a retailer might sell the product, we link to a generic search page, not a specific listing, so that you can compare prices. Our editorial policy explains how we research, check facts and correct errors, and our affiliate and ad disclosure explains how the site earns money.

What we do not claim

We do not claim to have tested every product we mention. Where we describe a category, such as a type of headphone or a kind of blanket, we describe what is commonly available and what typically matters, not a review of one model. If we test a product ourselves, we will say so plainly. We do not publish fabricated statistics, invented quotes or made-up customer reviews.

Who writes Jolly List

The site is written and maintained by the Jolly List editorial team. Pages are credited to the team unless a named contributor is listed, and every page is reviewed before publication. We would rather be plain about this than invent a persona.

How the site is funded

Running a free site costs money. Jolly List is funded by advertising through Google AdSense and, where we say so, by affiliate links. Advertising never decides what we write about, and advertisers do not review our content. Ads are labeled and limited to a fixed number per page.

Contact and corrections

If you spot an error, want to suggest a topic or have a question about a deadline or policy, use the contact page. We read every message, correct factual errors and note the date of the change on the page.

Our promise to readers

We will keep our tools free and private. We will label estimates as estimates. We will update dates when carriers and retailers publish new information and say when we last checked. And we will keep the site fast and easy to read, because a holiday planning page that takes ten seconds to load is not helping anyone.
